The Test Engineer will be responsible for carrying out duties within the test engineering department, including: test equipment set-up, performing tests as per given Test Request, analysing data and creating test reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform a range of component testing using our in house mechanical and servo hydraulic test machines.
- Produce written reports.
- Perform DVP&R testing of components.
- Assemble prototype and low volume vehicles.
- Work on vehicles in a safe and unsupervised manner, supporting our vehicle ride and handling projects.
- Assemble, test and validate new R&D suspension dampers and mechatronic systems.
- Low volume production damper and mechatronic system assembly.
- Test project management, to be able to take on tasks from beginning to end liaising with other departments for the completion of the project.
- Inspect assemblies and produce reports using Faro Arm CMM.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Be a strong communicator both verbally and written. Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management systems (e.g. TS 16949, ISO 90012014). Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner. Ensure compliance with security requirements, including information security, data protection, and prototype protection, to maintain the highest standards of information security at the level required by our customers. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- University degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Automotive Engineering.
- Servo hydraulic test experience desirable.
- To have good manual dexterity.
- Basic computer and keyboard skills.
- Basic understanding of engineering drawings and terminology.
- Be mechanically proficient.
- Approach testing in a logical manner, with the ability to work unsupervised.
- The ability to work to the procedures and standards as set by MTCE.
- To work in a clean and tidy manner, keeping the work area in a clean and tidy condition.
- To hold a current Passport and be able to travel as and when required by MTCE.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Willingness to work additional hours on an as needed basis.
