Scope of Position: To be engaged in a strong team working environment producing world class quality parts in a timely fashion to meet targets and deadlines whilst following robust processes and Health & Safety guidelines to meet the business needs. Quality control manages the routine inspection and sampling of all incoming parts for production process in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in dynamic production environment to achieve the businesses production targets.
- Inspection of incoming parts and materials by confirming specifications and conducting physical inspection in accordance with drawings/procedures and internal specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of sampling and inspection activities including release, quarantine, and rejection of parts.
- Working with other departments to plan and priorities the inspection and release of parts.
- Take lead in the compliance of stores and logistics teams in terms of isolation of quarantine, release and rejected parts.
- Share and promote the objectives contained in the “Presidents Message” with all staff.
- Adopt and practice Kaizen Principles and Concepts.
- Support and encourage KAIZEN and participate in Gear activities.
- Follow all DEPARTMENTAL GENERAL PROCEDURES as well as procedures for this position as indicated in the level II Procedure manual.
- Perform other duties as required.
Basic Requirements:
- Experience in a quality control environment is advantageous, ideally a mechanical setting advantageous.
- Experience in handling metrology equipment such as Verniers & Micrometers advantageous.
- CAD/CMM based inspection experience using a Faro Arm would be highly advantageous.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- A good standard of English is required, be able to read, write & speak English.
- Willingness to learn new skills and desire for personal development.
- Proactive approach to work, eye for detail and a big focus on Quality.
- Strong team player with self-motivation.
- Punctual and flexible approach to work hours to meet customer demand.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
