The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

The Maintenance Operative is responsible for carrying out reactive, planned and preventative maintenance across the site, ensuring all building, grounds and facility-related works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard. The role may also require travel between company sites to support maintenance activities as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the site, buildings and grounds are maintained in a clean, tidy and presentable condition.
  • Undertake all works in a tidy, safe and controlled manner, ensuring materials, tools and waste are cleared away and the area is left clean on completion.
  • Undertake scheduled maintenance and repair works to meet compliance requirements.
  • Undertake reactive maintenance and repair works based on a prioritised work request system.
  • Plan and undertake proactive maintenance and repair works as identified.
  • Travel between company sites as required to support maintenance activities of a similar nature, in line with business needs and capacity.
  • Keep scheduling and progress of work requests up to date on the work request system to ensure stakeholders are informed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduled maintenance records.
  • Purchase and manage materials and supplies required to undertake scheduled, reactive and proactive maintenance tasks.
  • Source and coordinate external contractors where work cannot be completed in-house, ensuring works are completed effectively and to the required standard.
  • Provide emergency out-of-hours support when required, including assistance to out-of-hours staff or security.
  • Work at height where required; training for relevant tools or operating environments will be provided where necessary.
  • Support company and departmental activities.
  • Apply Kaizen principles and participate in continuous improvement and GEAR activities relevant to the role and working environment.
  • Follow all general procedures as set out in the General Procedures section of the Level 3 Procedures Manual.
  • Support and adhere to policies, procedures and operational guidelines relating to established quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001:2015), as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with security requirements, including information security, data protection, and prototype protection, to maintain the highest standards of information security at the level required by our customers.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties are carried out safely for self and others.
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities reasonably assigned in line with the needs of the business.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in one or more relevant maintenance trades, such as joinery, fitting, plumbing or electrical work.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to manage own workload effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team when required.
  • Flexible approach to work and changing priorities.
  • Full UK driving license, with willingness to travel between company sites as required (company vehicle provided where applicable).
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Work Environment

This role is primarily site-based and involves working across buildings, grounds and operational areas. Travel between company sites may be required to support maintenance activities. The role may involve exposure to machinery, moving equipment and materials, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes, and varying temperatures associated with production or workshop environments. The role may also involve manual handling, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and working at height where required.
