Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy startup on a mission to deliver a terawatt of renewable energy - fast. We're combining first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system. We raised $210M from top-tier investors including Multicoin, Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, Box Group and strategic angels like Nico Rosberg, the Co-Founder of Solana and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify, Uber and more. We’re creating a fully integrated energy company: from developing solar, wind and hydrogen projects to real-time power trading and distributed energy installations. By selling directly to consumers, we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass on savings to customers.

We're hiring Product Engineers to join a small, high-ownership product team in our London office. This isn't a role where you'll be handed fully-specced tickets; you'll own features end-to-end, from customer-facing product to internal tools, including shipping consumer-facing AI features into production, working alongside a tight team of web engineers and mobile engineers. Our infrastructure and backend are already excellent; we're looking for product engineers who bring the same bar of craft and ownership to match.

Responsibilities

  • Own features end-to-end, from architecture through to shipped, polished UI, across both customer-facing products and internal tools, including consumer-facing AI features shipped into production.
  • Build and maintain responsive, performant web applications using React, TypeScript, Next.js, and modern front-end practices.
  • Collaborate closely with our backend and mobile engineers to design APIs and ensure smooth data integration, including with AI/ML services.
  • Work directly with product and design to deliver intuitive, detail-oriented user experiences, and push back when something isn't good enough.
  • Prototype and experiment to test and validate new features, including AI-driven product ideas, using data to inform decisions.
  • Help define product direction, not just execute it; we want people who dig into the 'why,' not just the 'how.'
  • Contribute to our broader product direction and help shape the future of clean energy tech.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing web applications with TypeScript, React, HTML, CSS, and Next.js.
  • A track record of owning and shipping consumer-facing products, with a portfolio or examples that show genuine attention to design detail.
  • Demonstrated ownership, able to speak to decisions you drove, not just tasks you completed.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across product, design, backend, and mobile.
  • Understanding of performance optimization techniques for modern web applications.
  • Based in London (or willing to relocate) and able to work from our office.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary.
  • Biannual bonus scheme.
  • Fully expensed tech to match your needs.
  • Paid annual leave.
  • Breakfast and dinner allowance for office based employees.

How to prepare for a job interview at Multicoin

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Multicoin uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
