This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong civil engineering experience, particularly in large-scale subcontract management and NEC3 Option A contracts.

The role will be based in Aberdeen, with flexibility to work from home approximately two days per week, requiring three days working from the office.
This is a temporary position designed to provide additional resource support during the project delivery period until a permanent member of staff is appointed later in the project lifecycle.
Project Overview
The project is a major infrastructure development located outside Peterhead, Aberdeen.
Construction is scheduled to commence on 1st October, with the project currently in the pre-construction phase.
The works include the construction of
- Two electrical substations
- Various supporting minor buildings
- Associated civil engineering infrastructure
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will primarily focus on the civil works element of the project, managing significant subcontract packages and supporting commercial delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing large-scale subcontract packages from procurement through to completion.
- Providing commercial support across civil engineering works.
- Managing valuations, payments, variations, change control, and final accounts.
- Reviewing and administering subcontractor accounts.
- Ensuring commercial performance is monitored and maintained.
- Working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Supporting cost management and reporting requirements.
- Ensuring contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

- The role will involve management of major subcontract packages, including:
- Groundworks packages valued at approximately £22 million and £6 million.
- Steel and envelope packages valued at approximately £13 million.

- Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience managing large subcontract packages.
- Experience working under NEC3 Option A contracts.
- Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge.
- Ability to manage complex projects and deliver strong commercial outcomes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working on major infrastructure or energy projects.
- Experience using CEAR software for subcontract administration.
- Experience working on substation, utilities, or power sector projects.
