Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Forklift / Plant Mechanic required for immediate start working across the Lisburn area. This is a long-term opportunity offering consistent work and the potential to secure a permanent position.
We are looking for a reliable and experienced mechanic to maintain and repair forklifts and plant equipment used across construction and industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on forklifts (diesel, electric, LPG)
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
- Repair or replace components including engines, brakes, steering systems, and lifting mechanisms
- Carry out safety inspections and ensure equipment complies with regulations
- Respond to breakdowns and complete emergency repairs
- Test equipment following repairs to ensure safe operation
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Occasionally work on other plant machinery such as telehandlers, pallet trucks, and access equipment
Requirements:
- Fully qualified mechanic (Level 3 or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working with forklifts or plant machinery
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience working on diesel, electric, and LPG equipment
- Ability to work independently and manage workload
- Full UK driving licence preferred
