Damp and Timber Surveyor

Job Opportunity: Damp & Timber Surveyor (Self-Employed) We are looking to fill a self-employed position within our company, offering full-time or part-time flexibility. While we are open to candidates with varying levels of experience and qualifications, the ideal candidate would meet the criteria outlined below. Job Title: Damp & Timber Surveyor Location: London & surrounding areas Employment Type: Self-Employed (Full-time or Part-time) Salary: * £450 per week basic (£90 per day) * 7.5% commission on completed jobs (approx. 1 in 4 conversion rate) * 40p per mile travel allowance, plus parking and congestion fees (excluding fines) * Estimated annual income: £46,000 Key Responsibilities * Conduct site visits to assess damp & timber issues in domestic properties * Produce basic floor plans and site notes, detailing problems and recommending remedial actions * Prescribe appropriate damp-proofing and timber treatment solutions * Provide expert advice on structural damp and condensation issues * Maintain accurate records and reports using Microsoft Word and email * Liaise with clients professionally and maintain a presentable appearance Requirements ✅ Experience in damp & timber surveying (preferred) ✅ Knowledge of remedial treatment options for structural damp ✅ Basic computer skills, including digital floor plan creation (training provided) ✅ Own reliable transport and willingness to travel across London & the Home Counties ✅ Strong communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with clients ✅ Own mobile phone and PC (measuring/testing equipment may be provided) Desirable Qualifications (or equivalent) * Certificated Surveyor for Remedial Treatment (CSRT) * Certificated Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing (CSSW) * Certificated Surveyor of Timber & Dampness in Buildings (CSTDB) * Certificated Surveyor of Dampness in Buildings (CSDB) Additional Benefits * In-house training provided * Shadowing opportunities during initial site visits * Digital drawing package training available If you are interested or know someone suitable for this role, please get in touch
