Multi Trades Recruitment is looking for an HGV Class 2 Driver to be trained as a Vacuum Excavator Operator to begin work for a well-established civil engineering company based in Reading, with projects across the South East, London, Midlands and nationwide.

About the role:

  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday (Regular overtime and weekend work available)
  • Pay Rate: From £16.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Brief Role Description:

We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver who is eager to develop new skills by training as a Vacuum Excavator Operator. You will work with a modern fleet of specialist vacuum excavation vehicles, supporting major civil engineering, utility, rail, airport and infrastructure projects throughout the UK.

Duties will include:

  • Operating vacuum excavators safely and efficiently on customer sites
  • Carrying out daily vehicle and equipment inspections
  • Completing digital job reports and site paperwork
  • Working closely with site teams and second operatives
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and professionalism
  • Representing the company positively on-site
  • Following all health and safety procedures
  • Travelling to projects across the UK as required

About You:

  • High work ethic & team player
  • Punctual & reliable
  • Valid HGV Class 2 Licence (essential)
  • Good understanding of health & safety
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous vacuum excavation experience is beneficial but not essential
  • CSCS, CPCS or NRSWA cards are advantageous
  • Able to commute to Reading (RG7 4PW)
