We are recruiting an experienced BMS Service Engineer to support customer sites across Birmingham and the wider Midlands. You will cover locations including Loughborough, Derby, Northampton, Worcester and Wolverhampton, so a full UK driving licence is essential.

This is an excellent temporary-to-permanent opportunity for an engineer with strong BMS, HVAC and electrical fault-finding experience.

Pay: Up to £27.26 per hour, depending on experience

Contract: Temporary-to-permanent

Location: Birmingham, with regional travel

Hours: Flexible working between 7:00am and 7:00pm, Monday to Friday

The role

  • Installing, configuring and commissioning BMS equipment, including sensors, controllers, actuators and software
  • Carrying out planned maintenance and reactive repairs
  • Completing maintenance checks on Trend, Tridium and Distech systems
  • Diagnosing faults within BMS systems and electrical control panels
  • Providing technical support and advice to customers
  • Identifying remedial works and opportunities to improve system performance
  • Preparing reports, proposals and quotations
  • Building strong working relationships with customers and site contacts
  • Participating in a reactive call-out rota, with additional payment for being on call and attending call-outs

Experience required

  • Previous BMS service, maintenance or commissioning experience
  • Strong knowledge of BMS and HVAC systems
  • Experience with systems such as Trend, Tridium/Niagara, Distech or Siemens
  • An electrical qualification such as City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ
  • Experience fault-finding within electrical panels
  • The ability to read electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams
  • A good understanding of IT networks
  • Good customer communication and report-writing skills
  • A full UK driving licence
  • AutoCAD knowledge and previous controls training would be advantageous. Training may be available for the right candidate.

Working hours

Hours can be worked flexibly between 7:00am and 7:00pm, Monday to Friday. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet site needs, although this will be the exception rather than the rule. Hours can be adjusted to accommodate out-of-hours work, or additional hours may be taken as overtime.
