Labour Hire are looking for an ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN for a well-established business based in BIRMINGHAM. This is a full-time, permanent position with NO agency probation period.
About You:
- Fully qualified to BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Knowledge of BS 7909 (Temporary Electrical Systems for Events)
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a venue, theatre, arena or live events environment
- Strong technical background in lighting, sound or audio visual systems
- Confident leading technical discussions and liaising with multiple departments
- Comfortable working at height and undertaking high hazard activities
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD Viewer)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience working anti-social hours in fast-paced, pressurised environments
- Proactive, safety-conscious and committed to continuous development
About the Role:
- Install, maintain, inspect and test temporary electrical mains supply systems for exhibitions, events and live productions
- Ensure full compliance with BS 7671, IEE Wiring Regulations and BS 7909
- Act as a key point of contact for mains, lighting, sound and AV services across events
- Oversee event production connections to mains in line with H&S and legislative requirements
- Carry out maintenance and inspection programmes for temporary electrical installations
- Work on high hazard tasks including working at height, plant operation and lifting activities
- Lead projects relating to lighting, sound and audio visual systems
- Complete and review Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments
- Deputise for senior electrical management when required
- Support continuous improvement of venue services and technical standards
This is a high hazard role and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing in line with company policy.
