The company specialises in medium to heavy engineering, manufacturing a diverse range of components from drawings and 3D CAD models using CAM.
Due to expansion, we are looking to recruit a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist/Programmer Team Leader with high-level turning and milling skill sets. Role & Responsibilities:
- Manufacture components to drawings and specifications, working to exacting standards and precision and within the company quality, health and safety, and work control procedures.
- Adhere to internal quality procedures and maintain the standards necessary to satisfy the company quality standards (ISO 9001:2015).
- Assist in the development of Tooling Libraries and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assist in the day-to-day running of the Turning and Milling Sections; the organisation of staff, materials, and equipment to ensure that the sections deliver an efficient and high-quality service.
- Assist in training and staff development including mentoring apprentices.
- Identify and collaborate with continual improvement strategies.
- Adhere to the company Health and Safety Policy and procedures.
- Promote an employee-orientated company culture that emphasises quality, health and safety, continuous improvement, and high performance.
You will have experience in:
- Conversant in Haas and or Heidenheim programming.
- Conversant in Fanuc and Siemens programming.
- Haas Machining Centres (vertical and or horizontal).
- Doosan 700LM II Mill/Turn and Weiler E-Series Flat Bed.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/geometric tolerancing.
- Experience of working with castings, forgings, alloy, and stainless steels.
- Vice, jigs and fixturing, angle plates and rotary axis experience.
You will have qualifications and skills in:
- Recognised Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
- Ability to produce high quality precision components to tight tolerances.
- Be conversant with imperial/metric measurements and measuring equipment.
- Be conversant with modern machining practices/methods and tooling.
- Programming abilities.
- CAM software knowledge would be advantageous but non-essential.
- Understand technical drawings and geometric tolerance.
- Methodical approach with a high degree of diligence.
- Staff supervision and training/mentoring.
- Excellent time and utilisation skills.
- Initiative-taking/an enthusiastic approach.
