Multi Catering Technologies (MCT) is looking for a skilled and motivated Commercial Catering Engineer to join our expanding team!
We specialise in the servicing, maintenance, and repair of commercial catering equipment, helping hospitality businesses keep their kitchens running safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption.
As our business continues to grow, we’re expanding our services to include commercial refrigeration and air conditioning, making this an exciting opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their skills and grow with the business.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial catering equipment, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems at customer sites across Norfolk, Suffolk, and Bury St Edmunds.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnosing faults and completing equipment repairs.
- Responding to emergency call-outs and breakdowns.
- Working safely and in line with relevant industry standards.
- Building strong relationships with customers and providing practical technical advice.
- Recommending repairs, equipment upgrades, and solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Maintaining accurate service records and ordering required parts.
- Supporting customers with equipment operation, care, and maintenance.
- Working collaboratively with the wider team to deliver a responsive, high-quality service.
The role is primarily field-based, with some flexibility for home-based tasks such as paperwork, service reports, and customer communication.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and understands the importance of keeping commercial kitchens operating smoothly.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Proven experience servicing and repairing commercial catering equipment, gas works, refrigeration and ware-washing.
- Relevant technical qualifications or an apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or refrigeration engineering.
- A good understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- The ability to work independently, manage your workload, and respond to urgent call-outs.
- Confidence explaining technical issues and recommending appropriate solutions to customers.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the region.
