We’re looking for multiple Highways Maintenance Operatives to join our Shropshire based team.
What we are looking for:
- Self-employed basis
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential) - WITH 6 POINTS OR LESS. Driver checks will be completed
- Immediate start dates available
- Work rota - varying shifts, overtime and weekend working available
- All equipment and PPE provided
- Experience in highways maintenance
- Experience in asphalt – hand lay or machine lay
- Experience lifting ironworks
- Experience replacing or renewing kerbs & flags
Licence/Certifications required:
- YOU MUST HAVE A CURRENT CSCS CARD OR PROOF OF APPLICATION FOR ONE
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential) - WITH 6 POINTS OR LESS. Driver checks will be completed
- CSCS Green card minimum
- Streetworks operative - (desirable)
- Abrasive Wheels & Manual Handling (desirable)
- Ride on Roller (desirable)
- CAT & Genny (desirable)

Multiple vacancies are available for experienced Highways Maintenance Operatives to support our gangs. Location: Mobile worker - on the road
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out highways maintenance tasks including pothole repair, resurfacing support, patching and surface dressing assistance
- Hand lay and assist with machine lay asphalt works
- Lifting and replacing ironworks, kerbs and flags safely and accurately
- Operate, assist and maintain small plant and tools in line with safety procedures
- Follow site traffic management plans and work with traffic marshals when required
- Complete site paperwork, defect reporting and basic daily checks
- Ensure all work meets the required quality and health & safety standards
- Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and supervisors to meet programme requirements
What we are looking for:
- Previous highways maintenance experience
- Competent in asphalt works (hand lay or machine lay)
- Ability to lift and handle heavy ironworks and kerbing materials
- Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
- Strong focus on health & safety and following procedures
- Flexible to work varying shifts, weekends and overtime where required
