What we are looking for:

  • Permanent and contract opportunities available
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential) - WITH 6 POINTS OR LESS. Driver checks will be completed
  • Immediate start dates available
  • Work rota – varying shifts, overtime and weekend working available
  • All company equipment and PPE provided
  • Proven experience in machine lay surfacing and asphalt works
  • Experience operating or working alongside pavers and rollers
  • Knowledge of jointing, finishing and quality profiling of newly laid surfaces
  • Ability to work on live carriageway and planned resurfacing schemes

Licence/Certifications required:

  • YOU MUST HAVE A CURRENT CSCS CARD OR PROOF OF APPLICATION FOR ONE
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential) - WITH 6 POINTS OR LESS. Driver checks will be completed
  • CSCS Green card minimum
  • Relevant plant qualifications (e.g. paver, roller) - desirable
  • Streetworks operative or supervisor certification - desirable
  • Abrasive wheels & manual handling - desirable
  • Traffic management or banksman accreditation - desirable

  • West Midlands

Key responsibilities:

  • Operate or assist with machine lay surfacing operations including feeding, levelling and shuttling materials
  • Work alongside pavers, compactors and rollers to achieve correct profile, line and level
  • Prepare and check materials, joints and edges to ensure a high quality finish
  • Assist with setting out, profiling and hand-finishing areas that machines cannot reach
  • Carry out pre-start checks, basic maintenance and daily checks on plant and small tools
  • Follow site traffic management plans and liaise with traffic marshals where required
  • Complete site paperwork, defect reporting and daily records as required
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, method statements and quality procedures at all times
  • Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and supervisors to meet programme requirements

Person specification:

  • Proven experience in machine lay surfacing or machine-assisted asphalt works
  • Practical knowledge of paver and roller operations, jointing and finishing techniques
  • Good communication and teamworking skills with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work under direction in a fast-paced environment
  • High focus on health & safety and adherence to site procedures
  • Flexible to work varying shifts, weekends and overtime where required
