Job Details
- Contract: Full Time / Permanent
- Location: Severnside Depot (GL10 2DG)
- Shift Pattern: 5 days out of 7, Tuesday – Saturday, start times 1 pm–3:30 pm (47.5 hours per week)
- Rate of Pay: £17.30 – £28.45 per hour, dependent on working hours
- Overtime: £19.46 per hour (hours worked over contracted)
Class 1 Driver Role & Responsibilities
- Complete multi-drop routes delivering milk products to customer stores and regional distribution centres.
- Ensure timely deliveries, accurate documentation and compliance with all safety and transportation regulations.
- Prioritise safety and respect all other road users.
- Complete driver and vehicle checks correctly.
- Plan routes to avoid safety restrictions, planned road works and traffic for smooth and efficient journeys.
- Act professionally as the interface between the business and customers.
Class 1 Driver Key Skills & Experience
- HGV Class 1 licence (LGV Cat C+E)
- Current CPC and digital driving card
- No more than 6 minor points on the driving licence (no CDs, DDs, DRs or INs)
- Minimum 6 months’ experience required
- Comfortable with the physical nature of the role – trolleys loaded and unloaded onto the vehicle.
- Excellent teamwork and independent initiative.
- Demonstrates a positive, self-motivated attitude and is extremely reliable.
