In the UK, Müller develops, manufactures and markets a wide range of branded and private-label dairy products. We are recruiting for a Process Operative at our Telford site within the Müller Yogurts and Desserts business unit.

The purpose of this role is to operate and run the designated plant, achieve daily operations targets and maintain GMP standards within the process department.

Contract: Permanent, Full time

Location: Telford

Shifts: 4 on 4 off 12-hour shifts, days and nights 6-6

Salary: £31,079 per annum plus 1.5x overtime rate

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering the daily production plan
  • Operating plant/equipment and carrying out routine basic maintenance
  • Achieving daily KPI targets
  • Working with key operators on start-up procedures and ensuring good manufacturing, housekeeping, hygiene and health & safety standards throughout production
  • Ensuring an effective hand-over between shifts, remaining on line until relief takes over
  • Monitoring product quality, highlighting non-conformance and taking appropriate corrective action
  • Ensuring SIC and quality information is accurate, complete and timely
  • Completing all documentation and ensuring it is up to date and available
  • Training operators and ensuring competence to perform allocated jobs
  • Leading by example, encouraging appropriate behavioural standards in support of company values and culture
  • Complying with food safety requirements, controlling CCPs and adhering to site quality procedures
  • Maintaining line/area GMP standards and looking to constantly improve
  • Taking reasonable care for the health, safety and welfare of self and others affected by actions or omissions
  • Carrying out any other duties within the employee’s skills and abilities when reasonably instructed
  • Actively promoting and complying with all company policies, procedures and values

Key Skills & Experience

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Previous machine experience in a fast-moving production environment is desirable
  • Production at first time, producing product to required standard minimizing finished goods waste
  • Experience controlling material losses
  • Confident adherence to GMP standards
  • Experience with H&S statistics (e.g., accidents and near-misses)
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Flexible approach to adapt to changing daily production plans
  • Good listening and communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and prioritisation skills
