Milk Intake Operative – Bellshill Dairy
Contract Type: Full-Time
Location: Bellshill
Salary: £12.94 per hour + premiums
Premium Pay Rates:
- Saturday: 1.25x hourly rate
- Sunday: 1.5x hourly rate
- Public Holidays: 2x hourly rate
- Unsociable Hours (6pm – 4am): Additional 23%
Shift Pattern:
5 over 7 days, rotating across:
- Day Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm
- Back Shift: 2:00pm – 10:30pm
- Night Shift: 10:00pm – 6:30am
About the Role
We are recruiting a Milk Intake Operative to join our Process Department working within a laboratory environment at Bellshill Dairy, part of Müller Milk & Ingredients. This role is key to ensuring the smooth operation of:
- Raw milk intake
- Fresh milk and cream processing
- Cream export area
- Chemical offload area
- Laboratory testing and reporting of processing results
Key Responsibilities
- Sample and test raw & finished products
- Operation & updating of all lab results using a dedicated computer platform
- Load cream export tankers
- Liaise with other production departments
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Perform quality assurance checks
- Manual cleaning.
- Undertake additional duties as required
Experience & Skills
- Experience in manufacturing or a lab environment (ideally in a food environment)
- Understanding of quality assurance and continuous improvement processes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
