Position Overview

We are recruiting for Terberg Shunter Drivers at our Severnside Depot within the Müller Milk and Ingredients Distribution Business.

Contract & Location

  • Contract – Full Time / Permanent
  • Location – Stroud, Gloucester (GL10 2DG); yard based
  • Shift Pattern – 4 on / 4 off, 12‑hour overnight shifts
  • Hourly Rate – £16.63 (plus premiums)

Class 1 Shunter Driver Role & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate onsite bay movements ensuring all equipment is fully compliant.
  • Keep safety first and respect all road users.
  • Ensure driver and vehicle checks are completed correctly.
  • Conduct regular checks on all vehicles and trailers to ensure they meet the necessary safety and compliance standards, and deflect non‑compliant units to the workshop for repairs or maintenance.
  • Prioritise, assess and control safety, health and workplace risks; identify potential hazards and take preventive measures.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Mandatory Terberg experience.
  • HGV Class 1 licence (mandatory).
  • Current CPC and digital driving card (mandatory).
  • No more than six minor points on driving licence (no CD, DD, DR or IN).
  • Excellent teamwork, initiative and a positive attitude.
  • Self‑motivated and extremely reliable.
  • Comfortable with the physical nature of the role.
