About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Security Officer to join our team at Market Drayton.
This is much more than a traditional security role.
As the first point of contact for visitors, contractors and colleagues, you'll play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment across site.
Customer service is a fundamental part of the role, and we're looking for someone who can communicate confidently, remain calm under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced operational environment.
Previous security experience is not essential as full training will be provided.
We're looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a professional approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering outstanding customer service.
The role can be demanding, particularly during busy periods, so resilience, teamwork and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
What you'll be doing
- Handling calls to site, resolving queries or directing them to the appropriate department.
- Operating gatehouse systems, barriers and turnstiles.
- Managing visitor, contractor and employee access to site.
- Carrying out weighbridge transactions for inbound and outbound movements.
- Completing site lock-up, unlock and patrol procedures.
- Monitoring and operating CCTV systems in line with company procedures.
- Issuing access cards, temporary passes and site keys.
- Briefing visitors and contractors on site rules and health & safety requirements.
- Maintaining accurate handovers, security records, logbooks and spreadsheets.
- Supporting emergency response procedures, including evacuations and site incidents.
- Supporting compliance activities and security-related audits.
- Working closely with colleagues as part of a two-person shift team to ensure continuous site coverage.
