We are recruiting for Shunter Drivers at our Skelmersdale Depot within the Müller Milk and Ingredients Distribution Business.

  • Contract: Full Time / Permanent
  • Location: Skelmersdale Depot - WN8 8DZ
  • Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off Days & Night Shifts Available
  • Hourly Rate: £16.63 per hour, plus £20 per week shunter supplement
  • Overtime: £18.71 per hour (hours worked over contracted), £18.71 per hour on Saturday, £24.95 per hour on Sunday

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the onsite bay movements ensuring that all equipment is fully compliant.
  • Puts safety first and respects all other road users.
  • Diligent in ensuring driver and vehicle checks are completed correctly.
  • Conduct regular checks on all vehicles and trailers to ensure they meet the necessary safety and compliance standards.
  • If a vehicle or trailer is not compliant, defect to the workshop for repairs or maintenance.
  • Prioritise, assess, and control safety, health, and workplace risks.
  • Identify potential hazards and take preventive measures.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Terberg experience (mandatory)
  • HGV Class 1 Licence (mandatory)
  • Current CPC and digital driving card (mandatory)
  • No more than 6 minor points on driving licence (No CDs, DDs, DRs or INs)
  • An effective team member who works well on their own initiative
  • Demonstrates an excellent attitude to work
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and extremely reliable
  • Must be comfortable with the physical nature of the role
