Demand Planning Intern in Newport

Location: Market Drayton, Shropshire

Contract: Starting July 2027, 13-month Fixed Term Contract

Hours/Shift Pattern: 8am-4pm/9am-5pm, Monday to Friday. Minimum of 3 days p/w on site required.

What you'll be doing:

As a Demand Planner at Müller, you will play a vital role in our supply chain by analysing marketing and sales data to accurately forecast future demand for our products. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with various departments, providing you with valuable exposure to the Commercial, Finance and Marketing teams. You will align sales forecasts with key initiatives such as promotions, new product launches, and seasonal events.

Key tasks & responsibilities include:

• Forecast Management: Oversee account-level forecasting to enhance service levels and minimise waste.
• Data analysis: Analyse statistical data to develop effective forecasting solutions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with internal commercial teams to generate insights that improve short- and medium-term forecasting accuracy.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to foster collaboration between Müller and our customers.
• Collaborative Group Projects: Work alongside other placement students on a group project, enhancing teamwork and problem-solving skills.

What we're looking for:

Müller are looking for confident students with an analytical mindset for this 13-month placement. We're seeking university students who are on track to achieve a 2:1 and above and are looking for a placement year role.

• Clear and respectful communication skills: Both written and verbal. The ability to express ideas effectively, listen actively, and tailor communication to different audiences and contexts.
• Resilience under Pressure: Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem solving: Innovative thinking and solution-oriented approach.
• Initiative and teamwork: Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Organisational skills: Effective time management and high attention to detail.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills: Making data-driven decisions to solve problems efficiently.
• Technical proficiency: Competence with Microsoft Office and digital tools.
• UK Driving License: Must hold a full UK driving licence for at least one year.
• UK Residency: Eligibility to work in the UK (Please note this role is not eligible for sponsorship as the salary falls below the required threshold).
