We are recruiting a Project Engineering Manager to join our Mller Milk & Ingredients business at our Skelmersdale site on an 18-month fixed-term contract. This is a site-based, hands-on role, leading the successful delivery of engineering and capital projects within a live FMCG manufacturing environment, while providing technical leadership to Project Engineers and wider stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple CAPEX projects from concept to handover.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to Project Engineers and supporting resources.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, risk, scope and delivery timelines.
  • Ensure adherence to Mller project governance, investment and change processes.
  • Act as the senior engineering interface with Operations, HSE, Quality, Procurement, contractors and OEMs.
  • Oversee contractor management, site safety, CDM compliance and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure all project documentation, handover packs and asset data are completed to standard.
  • Support continuous improvement activities and raise engineering delivery standards on site.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Project Engineering Manager / Senior Project Engineer within FMCG, food, beverage or dairy manufacturing.
  • Strong track record of delivering CAPEX projects in live operational environments.
  • Experience leading or mentoring Project Engineers or technical teams.
  • HNC/HND or Degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and AutoCAD.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
