Role Description The Quantity Surveyor will work on-site in Shepperton in a full-time capacity, supporting the commercial and residential construction and refurbishment projects managed by Mullen Property Services Ltd. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and managing bills of quantities, monitoring project costs, and ensuring budgets are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves cost planning, cost reporting, and supporting tender processes, including evaluating subcontractor quotations and preparing financial summaries. The Quantity Surveyor will collaborate with project managers, site teams, and suppliers to track progress, manage variations, and ensure financial and contractual obligations are met. The role also includes contributing to value engineering, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality, and maintaining accurate documentation and reports.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong cost control and cost management skills to monitor budgets and maintain financial oversight on multiple projects.
  • Candidates should possess experience with BOQ (Bills of Quantities), including preparation, measurement, and verification of quantities for tenders and ongoing works.
  • Candidates should possess proven abilities in cost planning and cost reporting to support forecasting, cash flow management, and regular project financial updates.
  • Candidates should possess solid knowledge of construction processes and materials, with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with project managers, site teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and quantity surveying or cost management software; familiarity with UK construction standards and regulations is beneficial.
