This is a full‑time, on‑site Utilities Estimator role located in the Greater Edinburgh Area. The Utilities Estimator will assess project requirements, prepare detailed cost estimates, and evaluate project bids. Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing tender documents
  • Preparing take‑offs
  • Obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotes
  • Liaising with clients and internal teams to ensure accurate and competitive estimations
  • Collaborating with project teams to ensure budgets are maintained
  • Providing support during project delivery

The role plays a critical part in the successful execution of projects by delivering accurate and comprehensive cost estimations.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in cost estimation, tender analysis, and take‑off preparation
  • Experience in procurement, cost comparison, and working with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Strong skills in project budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost management
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the construction industry, especially utilities, infrastructure, and civil engineering
  • Good organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
  • Proficiency in relevant estimation software, such as CAD and costing tools, is an advantage
  • HND, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable
