This is a fullâtime, onâsite Utilities Estimator role located in the Greater Edinburgh Area. The Utilities Estimator will assess project requirements, prepare detailed cost estimates, and evaluate project bids. Key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing tender documents
- Preparing takeâoffs
- Obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotes
- Liaising with clients and internal teams to ensure accurate and competitive estimations
- Collaborating with project teams to ensure budgets are maintained
- Providing support during project delivery
The role plays a critical part in the successful execution of projects by delivering accurate and comprehensive cost estimations.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in cost estimation, tender analysis, and takeâoff preparation
- Experience in procurement, cost comparison, and working with suppliers and subcontractors
- Strong skills in project budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost management
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and stakeholders
- Knowledge of the construction industry, especially utilities, infrastructure, and civil engineering
- Good organizational, analytical, and problemâsolving skills
- Proficiency in relevant estimation software, such as CAD and costing tools, is an advantage
- HND, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable
