Job Overview
Reporting to the UK Controller and the sole running of the Heysham Depot. Responsible for the Transport assistant and working closely with the UK driver trainer in the planning of inductions and recruitment of new and existing drivers. Also assisting the teams based at head office with any requirement within the depot/company to maintain driver numbers and keep all vehicles filled daily with the assistance of outside recruitment companies. To have a sound understanding of Road Transport Legislation to keep all vehicles in line with DOT.
Job Duties
The Depot Manager will:
assist in the running of the UK depots and fleet requirements
ensure vehicles are serviced, maintained and repaired in line with DOT requirements and relevant records kept achieving 100% legal compliance.
work closely with our own workshops and service provides to ensure availability of trucks for servicing/inspections.
primary point of contact for drivers via telephone and text
ensure maximum availability of fleet for operational teams by working with casual drivers to ensure all available vehicles are manned.
Communicate between head office planning desk on weekly basis, planning driver availability sheet to ensure maximum availability of fleet for operational teams by working with casual / Agency staff to ensure all available vehicles manned.
manage absences, sickness and holiday records
keep good housekeeping in and around the Depot.
promote a good Health and Safety culture with working closely with head office and the H&S team.

Must have TM CPC Licence
