Reporting to the Transport Planning Manager, you will be responsible for planning all customer collections and deliveries in the most cost-effective and efficient manner, while maximising vehicle utilisation to meet the company’s and customers’ requirements in a safe and well-managed environment. You will work closely with the dayshift planning teams, providing a detailed and accurate handover at the end of each shift. Based at our Head Office in Dromore, Co. Down, you will oversee nightshift traffic activities across all depots. This is a vital role within the business managing the link between nightshift and dayshift activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maximise vehicle utilisation.
- Plan routes to meet customer KPIs and comply with drivers hours legislation.
- Issue drivers with clear instructions.
- Ensure all driver briefings and de-briefs are completed daily.
- Maintain the live Traffic Management System.
- React to changing situations to accommodate additional business, maximise service performance, and reduce delays.
- Monitor vehicle movements to maintain clear and effective control of the fleet.
- Create solutions to meet customers’ needs and requirements.
- Manage customer queries and issues, keeping customers informed and updated on changes.
