Mulbridge Partners is recruiting a Unix Platform Engineer for an investment management firm operating across global financial markets. Joining the London Infrastructure Platform Engineering team, you’ll help develop and support the Linux infrastructure behind global trading operations. The role combines hands‑on engineering, automation and production support across on‑premises infrastructure, exchange colocation facilities and public cloud.

The opportunity

You’ll work on business‑critical platforms supporting trading, middle and back‑office teams globally. Alongside maintaining reliable production services, you’ll contribute to engineering projects that improve automation, performance and scalability.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and developing an enterprise Linux estate, primarily SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Automating infrastructure deployment, configuration and maintenance using Ansible and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Developing scripts and tooling using Python and Bash.
  • Automating and orchestrating services using Terraform, Terragrunt and Cloud‑Init.
  • Implementing, maintaining and monitoring server hardware across data centres and colocation environments.
  • Supporting low‑latency trading infrastructure, focusing on performance, resilience and availability.
  • Integrating Linux platforms with Windows services, including Active Directory and Kerberos.
  • Improving standardisation across on‑premises and cloud infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting production issues and contributing to new technology initiatives.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong hands‑on experience engineering and administering enterprise Linux platforms, particularly RHEL and/or SUSE.
  • Experience with Ansible, infrastructure automation and configuration management.
  • Strong Python and Bash scripting skills.
  • Experience implementing and supporting server hardware.
  • Experience supporting low‑latency Unix‑based trading systems in exchange colocation environments.
  • An understanding of resilient, scalable hybrid infrastructure.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to balance engineering projects with operational responsibilities.

Additional experience that would be useful

  • Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus and GitOps.
  • CI/CD pipelines, APIs, JSON and YAML.
  • Public cloud integration.
  • Infrastructure supporting AI/ML workloads or AIOps.

Why consider the role?

You’ll work on infrastructure directly supporting global trading operations, with opportunities to strengthen your Linux expertise, build automation and contribute to the development of a global hybrid platform.
