Working closely with the GP Partners, the Practice Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the practice. This is a varied and hands-on position that requires strong leadership and excellent interpersonal skills to actively support the whole practice team. The ability to balance long-term planning with day-to-day demands and to adapt to changing priorities as needed.
Responsibilities
- Lead service improvement, strategic planning and long-term development of the practice.
- Maintain compliance of Care Quality Commission standards, NHS requirements, safeguarding responsibilities and health and safety legislation.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to optimise efficiency and patient care.
- Strong financial control with experience in accounts, budgets, payroll, income streams and reporting.
- Collaborate with the clinical team, which consists of 4 GP Partners, 2 salaried GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, a Nursing Associate and a Health Care Assistant.
- Work closely with the Primary Care Network (PCN) and have PCN staff working in the Practice.
- Support our non-clinical staff, including an Office Manager and Lead Receptionist, with the admin team covering reception and back-office roles.
- Lead and manage a dedicated Practice team in Pudsey, West Leeds, focusing on people, processes and change with strong human resources, financial and organisational skills.
- Participate in Mulberry Street Medical Practice as a Training Practice for GPs and Medical Students with over 7,600 patients; contribute to a busy but friendly GP training environment in Pudsey, West Yorkshire.
