The Role
Work closely with designers, RTW product developers, manufacturers, and suppliers to ensure that garments are produced to fit the original design specifications. Take responsibility for the technical aspects of garment from prototype through to delivery, including fabric testing, construction methods, and quality control, whilst ensuring all production goals for the collection are met.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the Designers and Product Developers throughout the season to help create accurate technical specifications, including measurements, fabric choices, construction notes, and material lists. All documentation should be clear and accurate, ready for external factories and suppliers.
- Ensure technical specifications are understood, adhered to, and that development and production issues are proactively resolved.
- Support to select fabric, trims and components in line with the creative direction and sustainability goals for the collection whilst managing cost and performance.
- Implement processes to ensure adequate performance testing which reflects product type and can support to finalise aftercare instructions and disclaimer tags (if necessary).
- Manage the fit/pre‑production sign off according to the critical path deadlines.
- Report seasonal performance by supplier and highlight any critical issues as they arise. Share this report weekly in order to formulate an accurate production plan.
- Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships and take ownership of the relevant KPI from initial seal to final product quality control.
- Attend regular factory visits throughout the season to ensure final bulk production meets all quality standards prior to factory release.
- Ensure all suppliers and process uphold our Global Sourcing Principles and B Corp sustainability commitments.
- Create a pattern archive and standardise key blocks with the support of design and merchandising to increase speed and accuracy when fitting and increase product performance.
- Analyse all product returns and faults so we can avoid future mistakes, this is working alongside the ecommerce manager.
- As and when required attend factory visits to hand over production comments (local travel may be required to factories).

Skills & Experience Required
- Strong technical expertise of garment construction, pattern making, consumption lay plans, fabrics and grading across all RTW categories is essential.
- Excellent communication skills, written & verbal.
- Excellent organisational skills and the highest level of attention to detail, particularly with fit and finish of garments.
- Comfortable building relationships at all levels.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Experience with CAD or pattern‑making software.
- Knowledge of CLO3D is strongly advantageous.
- Experienced user of all Microsoft Office applications.
- Problem‑solving skills to handle technical issues in production.
