As an Academy within the Mulberry Schools Trust, we are seeking to appoint an inspirational and dedicated SENDCo to lead inclusion and special educational needs provision at Mulberry Silverdale Primary. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEND leader, or an ambitious practitioner ready to take the next step in their career, to play a pivotal role in ensuring that every child receives the support, challenge and opportunities they need to thrive.
Working as part of our wider leadership team, the successful candidate will champion inclusive practice, remove barriers to learning and ensure that pupils with SEND achieve their full potential. We are looking for a person who:
- Is a passionate advocate for children with SEND and champions an inclusive, equitable and ambitious education for all pupils
- Has experience of leading SEND provision and a strong understanding of the statutory responsibilities of the SENDCo role in line with the SEND Code of Practice
- Can lead, develop and evaluate high-quality SEND systems, ensuring provision is effective, evidence-informed and has a measurable impact on pupil outcomes
- Has the expertise to support staff in delivering adaptive teaching and inclusive classroom practice through high-quality professional development and coaching
- Understands the importance of early identification, assessment and targeted intervention to ensure pupils’ needs are met effectively
- Will work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, families and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for children
- Has a strong understanding of safeguarding, vulnerable learners and the wider pastoral needs of pupils
- Can use data, evidence and professional judgement to monitor progress, evaluate provision and drive continuous improvement
- Builds positive relationships and promotes a culture of belonging, confidence and aspiration for pupils with SEND
- Will contribute strategically to whole-school improvement as a member of the wider leadership team
