Protection Consultant

From £25,000 (OTE – £70,000 for a 1-year period)

Blackwater

Full-time, Permanent Hybrid

Monday to Friday: 08:30am – 5:30pm, Fridays until 5pm (flexibility to start earlier or finish later)

A leading Mortgage and Protection Brokerage is recruiting a Protection Consultant. This is a great opportunity for advisors of all levels with a competitive commission structure. We welcome applications from junior, experienced, and senior advisors. Your role will involve identifying client protection needs, conducting market research to source appropriate products, and delivering informed recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customers with recommendations, assisting them to make informed decisions.
  • Manage customer appointments to progress from initial contact to on-risk status in a timely manner, offering excellent customer service and regular updates.
  • Conduct thorough and accurate Factfind/Know Your Customer questionnaires and review client circumstances, aims, and insurance requirements.
  • Research optimal solutions from various sources including insurance providers, underwriters, BDMs, and sourcing platforms such as IPipeline and Solutionbuilder, and issue demands and needs letters for advice given.
  • Design protection strategies tailored to client needs, explaining different types of protection products and information on new and existing products and services.
  • Meet monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Achieve quality targets and comply with requirements such as annual fitness and propriety actions, testing, and CPD under the Training and Competency Scheme.
  • Maintain detailed records to comply with FCA regulations.
  • Liaise with related professionals such as referrers, doctors, health professionals, underwriters, compliance, and case checkers.
  • Support QA and complaints investigations with accurate and detailed statements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide excellent service, e.g., case handlers during application and on-risk processes.

Experience:

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Previous sales experience (not required)
  • Mortgage & Protection industry experience (a bonus, not required)
  • Higher education (college or above) (not required)
  • R05 Qualification or other insurance-related qualifications (not required)
