Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE)

Our client, a long-established and highly respected specialist engineering services company, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Officer to join their team based in Hook, Hampshire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, well-established business with nearly 50 years of industry expertise, offering a supportive working environment and the chance to play a key role in both HR operations and management systems.

The Role

  • Reporting into senior management, you will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive HR service across the UK business, supporting employees and managers while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for all HR-related matters.
  • Managing employee relations and providing guidance on personnel issues.
  • Coordinating recruitment campaigns, onboarding, and induction processes.
  • Supporting performance management, appraisals, and employee development.
  • Advising management on employment law, salaries, redundancy, and HR best practice.
  • Maintaining confidential employee records and HR documentation.
  • Ensuring HR policies and procedures remain compliant with current legislation.
  • Supporting quality management systems and providing management systems assistance across the wider group where required.

About You

  • Previous experience as an HR Officer, HR Advisor, or in a similar generalist HR role.
  • Good working knowledge of UK Employment Law.
  • Experience in recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, training, and HR administration.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems or quality assurance processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • Sound judgement and the confidence to make decisions in challenging situations.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written English and strong administrative skills.

Salary & Benefits

  • £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • 28 days annual leave, increasing to 33 days with service (including Bank Holidays)
