As a Junior Merchandiser, you will play a pivotal role in the dynamic Global Buying & Merchandising team at Mulberry, directly contributing to the success of our global planning initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Global Planning Manager, you will be at the forefront of driving sales and optimizing inventory across our EMEA Outlet network. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your analytical skills and creative problem-solving abilities will be highly valued. You will collaborate closely with various departments, ensuring that our merchandising strategies align with our overall business goals.
Responsibilities
- Inventory and Sales Management: Manage and review weekly performances across Outlets for the EMEA (turnover, inventory, cover and margin). Ensure stock is maintained at an optimum level through recommending re-buys, sell backs and re-phasing of intake (Made For Outlet, Markdown, Full Price). Provide a thorough weekly, monthly & annual sales analysis on store/product performance. Plan the IDS levels and adjust based on sales & stock throughout the season. Attend and present in weekly/monthly Trade Calls. Actively review stock consolidations and opportunities. Build strong relationships with Store Managers, Area Managers, Marketing and VM to improve product performance. Drive solutions to inventory concerns by working alongside key stakeholders within the business. Constantly review existing processes with our EMEA region, advising and making recommendations to improve (logistics, store deliveries, stock transfers, inventory movements). Ensure that the decision-making tools reflect the most accurate trading position on Sales, Stock and Intake. Support SGPM with International Made for Outlet planning and allocations.
- Outlet Business: Develop an annual strategy and action plan for the Outlet business. Work with SGPM on the Outlet product and pricing strategy. Forecast and monitor Made for Outlet stock, re-forecast regularly to reflect current trends and react accordingly. Responsible for the Outlet Markdown strategy for seasonal sales and promotions. Closely collaborate with external partners on product exposure opportunities and taking part in local activities. Propose pricing models of merchandise and monitor sales & stock in season and recommend further markdowns in order to achieve revenue and margin targets. Regular store visits to Outlet stores in order to understand competition and drive opportunities. Maintain an outlet product launch calendar to be used as a key tool for communication with other departments in order to share key trading periods as well as key product drops.
- Financial Planning: Support SGPM to plan the financial budgets and quarterly re-forecast for the Outlet business. Reconcile monthly product re-forecasts to EMEA store revenue plans. Responsible for maintaining OTB and WSSI; liaising with Full Price team to gain necessary information on product flow. Developing existing tools and new reporting.
