Overview

Role: Visual Merchandising Manager, responsible for the design and delivery of the global retail visual merchandising guidelines. This role partners with Creative and Commercial teams to translate the brand vision into stores.

Location/Working pattern: Hybrid working applies to this role, with at least 3 days per week in our Kensington Office and a maximum of 2 days per week working from home. The role will also require regular travel to stores.

As a B Corp certified brand, sustainability and responsible practices are integral to the role and Mulberry’s culture.

Responsibilities

  • Create Visual Merchandising guidelines for Full Price, Off Price and Wholesale, bringing excitement to retail stores while balancing brand positioning with commercial needs.
  • Collaborate with the Product Director, creative teams and country retail leaders to define global visual guidelines, ensuring a consistent visual identity across the store network.
  • Develop a structured visual merchandising calendar based on window changes, merchandise deliveries, drops and marketing/press installations.
  • Present and develop imaginative VM stories aligned with seasonal design and commercial needs.
  • Create theatre-like installations across visual display areas in line with the seasonal window calendar.
  • Partner with merchandising teams and retail managers to review product selections for new and existing stores with a commercial yet creative mindset.
  • Design and develop innovative in-store POS materials.
  • Create seasonal VM guidelines from buy for training manuals for Full Price, Off Price and Wholesale networks.
  • Communicate with regional Visual Merchandisers and store teams to cascade knowledge and guidelines.
  • Create a monthly reporting system to provide visibility of all global stores.
  • Manage the annual VM budget and participate in budgeting processes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Franchise and Wholesale Partners to gain buy-in for seasonal visual changes.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and training to VM teams globally, promoting consistent standards.
  • Conduct monthly in-store rotations of Global Flagship stores to maintain standards and update presentations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely production and installation of POS materials.
  • Organise showroom setups four times annually for seasonal handovers, including planning, ordering, setup and presentation.
  • Maintain and reset showrooms for external appointments and internal key meetings.
  • Develop floor plans and renders for new store openings.
  • Collaborate with Store Design to deliver key VM information and supporting documents for each new store.
  • Work with Buying, Merchandising and Product teams to create region-tailored product packages.
  • Support regional events with VM concepts in collaboration with regional and central marketing teams; manage event budgets and supplier coordination.
  • Guide and train store VM teams on seasonal VM standards and techniques.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Highly motivated Visual Merchandising professional with substantial experience within fashion brands.
  • Experience managing budgets and global guidelines.
  • Creative thinking with a focus on sustainable and engaging solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
