The Role
The Assistant Merchandiser’s role is to assist the Merchandising & Trading teams in delivering UK and EU sales budgets through the management of day-to-day stock and product activities, making decisions on trading opportunities to maximise sales opportunities and owning the allocations and replenishment. This role sits across both Full Price Retail and Digital stores for the UK and EU region, and as such a key part of this role will be in building and maintaining strong working relationships with our store and site leaders, in order to ensure our product is in the right place at the right time, in the right quantities, and at the heart of all decision making.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for creating weekly Sales and Stock reports ahead of Trading meetings on Mondays.
- Analyse output of reports by channel and by location, and by product type.
- Identify and suggest trading actions, and communicate these in weekly Digital and Retail leadership meetings.
- Manage stock replenishment - plan and monitor the IDS levels based on sales and stock throughout the season (new releases, traffic peaks, regional activity peaks, gift giving seasons, etc.).
- Maintain regular communication with logistics centre to anticipate increased picking/deliveries, sales cycle (season launch, sales peak, MD, etc.) and operational improvements.
- Work alongside Digital team to minimise missing stock opportunities.
- Liaise with key Retail stakeholders to hold weekly calls to identify any additional areas of opportunity, undertaking regular store visits in addition when time and business needs dictate.
- Collate Product Feedback on new launches from stores and channels across the overall network.
- Responsible for weekly Digital Concession deliveries and replenishment.
Planning & Buys
- Produce seasonal analysis to summarise performance at the end of each season, including sell-through, identifying areas of risk and opportunity to maximise future sales.
- Attend Product Handover presentations, and work alongside the Snr Merch Manager to assist in submitting buy proposals, in line with Category / Seasonal Open to Buy targets, and previous season / store performance.
Hybrid Concession Partners
- Manage data sharing and PO’s in a timely manner to coincide with product launch and intake.
- Monitor partner sales and manage replenishment to minimise stock gaps at any point in time.
- Own regular Trading calls, and work alongside partners to identify additional business opportunities.
- Point of contact for all day-to-day queries and any operational issues.
The Mulberry Exchange (Buy Back, Resale and Rental)
- Responsible for the store ranging and distribution of Mulberry Exchange products.
- Working alongside VM on store ranging, optimising balance between offline and online offer.
- Collaborate with all departments involved to ensure the programme runs smoothly and efficiently: Quality, Operations, Digital, B&M, Retail.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve Mulberry Exchange processes to maximise sell-through on Pre-Loved product.

Skills and Knowledge Required
- Experience of working in Retail, ideally with fashion or luxury products.
- Strong planning, allocation, replenishment or merchandising background of 2+ years.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills; ability to analyse and interpret data.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Passionate about product.
- Proactive approach to problem solving with effective solutions.
- Ability to effectively manage own time and prioritise workload.
- Good presentation skills; effective and influential in a variety of formal/informal presentation settings.
- Customer focused; is dedicated to exceeding the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
Systems knowledge
- Advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Effective use of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
