Reporting to the Logistics Manager and General Warehouse Manager, the Logistics Supervisor's role will be to support their line manager to help supervise, delegate, and assist in the maintenance of all stock and systems within the warehouse. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of stock sales, stock holdings, and stock returns using the company's reports.
  • Identifying and using available reports to maximise the use of storage space within the warehouse.
  • Communicating fully with the management team regarding all stock quality or quantity problems.
  • Maintaining accurate levels of stock replenishment and reporting any discrepancies in the warehouse.
  • Encouraging and promoting "handle with care" treatment of all products.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Delivery: Running delivery shifts, delegating specific tasks to staff, overseeing the checking in of all delivery invoices, and ensuring timely notification of any shortage/overage of stock during delivery.
  • Inbound: Managing all inventory and locating them in a timely manner to ensure smooth warehouse operations, assisting in unloading deliveries.
  • Outbound: Arranging transportation for delivery of parcels to customers and managing the loading of trucks.
  • Systems: Maintaining awareness of all stock transfers, ensuring they are processed in the interface and approved by the manager, and keeping warehouse and storage tubs organized.
  • Write-Offs: Aiding the manager in identifying faulty goods for write-off purposes and supporting the management team with staff awareness of all deliveries and stock systems.
  • Reports and Levels: Remaining conversant with all reports and working with management and merchandising teams to ensure appropriate stock levels.
  • Security: Responsible for running twice-yearly stock takes, aiding the management team with general security of stock, and ensuring incident reports are filled for delivery discrepancies or unusual occurrences.
  • Health & Safety: Complying with the Company Health & Safety Policy, aiding the management team with health and safety aspects, ensuring manual handling best practices, and maintaining clear fire exits.

General: Flexibility to work varied hours including late shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.

Knowledge and Skills: Highly organised with the ability to adapt quickly to strategic change, self-starter, motivated to achieve and exceed goals.

Education and Experience: Previous experience in logistics or stock control managing deliveries, use of pump trucks.

Additional Information: May be requested to work in other UK locations from time to time.

Skills Required: Ability to use Microsoft Excel.

Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm, 40 hours contract weekly.
