Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify AI-driven transformation opportunities
- Evaluate cutting-edge technologies and recommend solutions based on business value and risk
- Adhere to MUFG Systems Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) and governance standards across AI projects
- Provide architectural leadership and establish principles, patterns, and quality controls for AI solutions
- Deliver L1–L3 support to ensure operational reliability of AI services
- Track outcomes, costs, and ROI to inform scaling and optimization of solutions
- Ensure compliance with policies, data protection, change management, and production access controls
- Coach and mentor AI engineering colleagues to build engineering discipline and adoption of best practices
- Build and nurture peer networks across the business to align delivery globally
- Promote MUFG values and foster an inclusive, collaborative culture
Key requirements
- Proven experience delivering sophisticated AI solutions in large-scale, enterprise environments, preferably in regulated financial institutions
- Extensive experience with Generative AI on Azure (preferred) or AWS, including RAG architectures, vector databases, prompt engineering, and model evaluation frameworks
- Strong SDLC background with Secure by Design, Architecture Review Board, Data Protection Impact Assessments, CI/CD, and governance
- Ability to define technical standards and document architectural decisions; evaluate multiple technologies/vendors
- Knowledge of security, privacy, data governance, and model risk within global financial contexts
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex concepts for diverse stakeholders
- Experience defining measurable outcomes and ROI for AI projects using evidence-based methods
- Experience with orchestration/governance/development tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, Azure Foundry, Azure AI, MCP, Python, and vector databases
- Degree-educated in Computer Science/Data Science or related discipline or equivalent practical experience
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build trust with stakeholders
- Clear and simplified communication of complex ideas
- Collaborative mindset with cross-team coordination
