Overview
In this role you drive the finance risk governance framework for MUFG in London, partnering across Finance, Internal Audit and Compliance to safeguard controls and drive continuous improvement. You’ll leverage analytics and AI-enabled insights to identify emerging risks and shape risk culture within the Finance function. Responsibilities
- Support and enhance the Finance Risk Management Framework to align with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations
- Lead maintenance and refresh of Finance R&RSA (RCSA), ensuring accurate risk, control, and assessment data
- Oversee finance operational risk issues, emerging risks, and control weaknesses from identification to remediation
- Provide challenge to control owners on performance, remediation strategies, and risk treatment plans
- Support development and monitoring of Finance Risk Appetite metrics for senior decision-making
- Coordinate risk assessments across finance functions with robust challenge and documentation
- Review non-SOX control testing outcomes with independent oversight and actionable recommendations
- Conduct thematic reviews and root-cause analyses of risk events, validating remediation evidence
- Produce high-quality risk reporting for senior committees using advanced data analytics
- Build cross-functional relationships and support risk training to strengthen organizational risk culture
Key requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience in Operational Risk Management or related fields in banking or regulated financial services
- Understanding of RCSAs, issue management, and control testing within large organisations
- Experience analyzing complex risk data and preparing management information for senior forums
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills for diverse, multinational teams
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with GRC systems; AI-enabled solution experience is advantageous
- Experience in global banking settings and collaboration with international stakeholders
- Professional qualifications such as ACA/ACCA/CIA/CRMA/FRM would be beneficial but not mandatory
