Overview of the Department/Section
The department is a frontâoffice function responsible for business development of Japanese corporates located in the United Kingdom and other designated EMEA countries.
Responsibilities include:
- Achieving BSC Profit Target and maximizing profitability through product and service offerings.
- Strategy planning â building shortâ and midâterm account strategies and supporting the Director in strategic planning.
- Customer centric â improving client base, expanding MUFG business, and introducing new products.
- Credit control â conducting credit analysis, reporting credit portfolio, and providing highâlevel borrower ratings.
- Compliance and risk ownership â leading risk framework development and ensuring compliance with regulatory rules.
- Contribution to MUFG â supporting other MUFG offices in the region.
Main Purpose of the Role
Accountable for the Japanese Corporate Banking Department (London).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage client portfolio to meet commercial and risk goals.
- Collaborate with Product Partners to identify solutions that meet client needs.
- Partner with Credit and Compliance stakeholders to meet internal requirements.
- Assist Senior Relationship Manager with origination and strategic business development activities.
- Regularly share information and ideas with other MUFG international branches.
- Develop strong understanding of MUFG's credit policy and operational procedures.
- Engage in ongoing training and development to build skills.
- Monitor and manage all relevant risks (market, credit, operational, conduct) within the firmâs risk appetite.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Provide risk and financial reporting in line with company policies.
- Manage credit assessment flows including applications, ratings, and monitoring.
- Evaluate and establish appropriate operational and IT systems and controls.
- Maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across the region and globally.
