Overview

In this role you define and govern the CITB risk and control strategy within MUFG’s EMEA Technology, aligning with the group’s risk appetite. You act as the primary risk and security liaison across JCIB, GCIB, Operations and TB, translating tech risks into business terms. You will drive risk governance, controls design, and assurance, collaborating with product, platform owners and IT Risk & Control to support risk-informed decision making. You’ll lead a proactive risk culture and report to senior leadership on risk posture and remediation progress.

Responsibilities

  • Define and govern the CITB risk and control strategy and appetite within Technology
  • Serve as BISO for JCIB, GCIB, Operations and TB; translate tech risks to business terms
  • Provide assurance on controls design and effectiveness across CITB
  • Define and evolve CITB KRIs, controls, and governance
  • Lead monthly risk/controls/audit forums and reporting to Extended Leadership Team
  • Oversee remediation governance for open issues and control deficiencies
  • Collaborate with Product/Platform owners to manage risk in new initiatives
  • Promote CMDB development and manage risk visibility across the department
  • Support regulatory compliance (SOX, CBEST) and incident management processes
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across IT Risk, Cyber Security, Compliance and external parties
  • Lead development of a risk-aware, inclusive culture with strong leadership
  • Ensure disaster recovery and BCM considerations for new services
  • Chair the Departments Risk Oversight Committee
  • Oversee vendor/3rd party risk and external audits related to CITB

Key requirements

  • Extensive Corporate, Investment and Transaction banking risk exposure
  • Experience with risk management tools (e.g., OpenPages)
  • Proven track record of managing risk in large technology departments
  • Knowledge of SOX and external assessments (e.g., CBEST)
  • Strong governance and senior stakeholder communication skills
  • Experience with incident, problem management and root cause analysis
  • Ability to influence executives and provide decision-ready insights
  • Degree-level education (or equivalent)
