Overview Of The Department/Section
MUFG has a developing and thriving Transactional Banking business, headquartered in Tokyo and spanning all continents. Transaction Banking, EMEA (incorporating Europe, Middle East and Africa) forms part of MUFG's Global Transaction Banking business. Our key responsibilities are to drive regional business and support global & regional clients with Transaction Banking solutions for Cash and Liquidity Management, Foreign Exchange, Trade Finance and Working Capital through a comprehensive suite of proprietary and 3rd party digital channels.
Main Purpose Of The Role
- 30%: EA to the TB EMEA Head, with primary responsibility for travel, expenses and diary management
- 50%: Junior business management supporting responsibilities
- 20%: Departmental Initiatives supporting Kaizen (continuous improvement); CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives); Dx (digital initiatives such as AI adoption); Learning Programmes & Digital Brand & Content
Key Responsibilities
- Provide EA support to TB EMEA Head of Department as required, including:
- Oversee the day to day team administrative workflow.
- Diary Management, including meeting co-ordination both external and internal.
- Travel & entertainment, adhering to MUFG policies;
- Timely completion of appropriate expense claims
- Monitor, report and manage the cost centre, especially areas such as travel, entertainment and training
- Liaise with various other stakeholders across different divisions (e.g. credit, front office, systems, audit, operations)
- Implementing new controls and processes as appropriate to level
- Co-ordinating, diarising intra department meetings, meeting rooms & ensuring papers prepared & delivered on time.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders within MUFG both regionally and globally
This role is ideal for an ambitious analyst who wants to grow into and professional a career journey within a COO type domain. This role will be responsible to learn, co-create and support delivery of critical TB EMEA divisional responsibilities including:
- Developing, diarizing & ensuring socialization and commitment of and by TB and stakeholder commitments
- Provision & communication of TB EMEA / HO Regional Priorities, Performance & Execution Progress;
- Strong financial and non-financial KPI / KRI establishment, socialization, attainment & mitigation actions;
- Production, interpretation & communication of actionable insights and relevant data strategy;
- Ensuring sustainability (and escalation) of revenue, cost & NoP, client segmentation; TB Target Operating model deliverables and bench-strength;
- Business Continuity, Operational Resilience and Cyber Security Policies & Adherence
Departmental Initiatives supporting Engagement & Inclusivity:
- Drive, creation, comms & ongoing execution of departmental Kaizen or Digital / AI initiatives
- Support proactively MUFG EMEA and team CSR initiatives
- Help define and drive TB Learning curriculum & B curriculum into Bank wide Learning & Development programmes
- Support Global brand internally through Kizuna & externally through approved professional media outlets
Work Experience, Skills And Experience
- Essential:
- Over 3 years of work experience as EA with foundational business management expertise and the desire to learn and career-develop into a business management professional within a financial institution (commercial and corporate banking preferred)
- Foundational understanding of commercial banking and deliverables highlighted within the responsibilities section
- Strong numerical, written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Excellent MS suite capabilities including, Co-pilot, Power BI & Tableau fluency, interest and experience in agentic AI would be an advantage
- Detail conscious, ensuring reliability at all times, and committed to producing high quality and professional work in a team environment
- Ability to deal with people of all types and personalities at all levels
- Good written communication – especially important due to the interaction with senior management
Education / Qualifications:
- Essential
- A Level equivalent minimum or equivalent work experience / BA an advantage. English fluency & numerical proficiency are essential.
