MUFG is seeking a Data Analytics Audit Manager (AVP) to join their EMEA Internal Audit Office in London. In this role you will transform audit practices through advanced data analytics, automation and artificial intelligence, designing and delivering robust analytics strategies, mentoring colleagues and contributing to a Data & AI‑enabled workforce. What you'll do
  • Collaborate with business audit teams to understand relevant processes, risks and controls in order to develop effective analytics testing strategies that support internal audit conclusions.
  • Design, implement and execute comprehensive analytics plans independently to assess key controls, validate issues and facilitate continuous monitoring across multiple audits.
  • Manage the collection, transformation and analysis of large datasets while ensuring data quality, integrity, security and strong governance throughout all stages of the audit lifecycle.
  • Document analytics work accurately and timely according to established methodology and quality assurance standards so that results are clear for business audiences.
  • Act as a relationship manager for a portfolio of audits by coordinating with audit teams and stakeholders to translate complex findings into actionable insights.
  • Drive the integration of automation and artificial intelligence into audit processes by introducing innovative techniques such as generative AI, machine learning, process mining and self‑serve analytics tools.
  • Support migration efforts towards cloud platforms by promoting adoption of new technologies among auditors including Data Analytics Champions.
  • Set clear expectations for junior colleagues while upholding high standards; provide guidance and feedback to encourage improvement and celebrate achievements within the team.
  • Mentor junior team members by contributing to their development through coaching sessions and supporting strategic initiatives aimed at continuous improvement of the Data Analytics function.
  • Engage in broader MUFG initiatives that promote equity, inclusion and belonging; participate actively in team activities that foster trust‑building communication and flexible hybrid work.
What you bring
  • Proficiency with Python or similar programming languages for advanced data analysis coupled with extensive experience using data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Strong project management skills enabling you to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while delivering high‑quality outputs aligned with KPIs and QA standards.
  • Experience managing analysts or peers, including full project ownership supporting audit testing plus technical leadership reviewing junior colleagues’ work and enhancing overall team capability.
  • Solid understanding of risk/control environments combined with the ability to assess risks, execute effective control testing strategies and develop observations supporting audit conclusions.
  • Excellent communication skills allowing you to explain complex data concepts clearly, both technically and non‑technically, building trust among stakeholders and audit leads or directors.
  • Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Mathematics or equivalent plus relevant work experience OR degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management with demonstrable data analytics experience.
  • Preferred: Experience developing advanced analytics solutions or workflows (e.g., Alteryx, AI/ML/LLM‑based tools), drafting requirements, partnering with technology teams to develop and test solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms/tools (AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, Copilot Studio or equivalent AI tools) plus knowledge of automation/low‑code platforms (Power Platform, Automate, Power Apps).
  • Experience contributing to analytics frameworks and best practices (UAT development lifecycle), familiarity with delivery/collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence) and relevant certifications (Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, IBM Data Analyst Professional Certificate, Microsoft Certified Azure Data Scientist Associate, AWS Certified Data Analytics, Tableau Desktop Specialist, Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate, CIA, CPA, CFSA).
