The Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB) division serves a diverse portfolio of corporate and institutional clients across EMEA, providing comprehensive financial products and strategic advisory services.NUMBER OF DIRECT REPORTSNot applicableMAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The Digital Transformation and Process Excellence function spearheads digital and operational transformation initiatives for GCIB across the EMEA region. This function is pivotal in driving the adoption of new technologies, enhancing efficiency and ensuring strategic alignment with global transformation priorities, including Project Horizon. Among other responsibilities, this role will be responsible for GCIB EMEA’s Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) programme.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOwn, develop and continuously enhance GCIB EMEA’s Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) framework, including tooling, standards, governance and reportingLead Kaizen initiatives end‑to‑end, from problem definition and root cause analysis through to implementation and benefits trackingApply Six Sigma or equivalent methodologies to identify inefficiencies and improve process effectiveness across GCIB EMEARepresent GCIB EMEA in regional Kaizen forums, contributing ideas, best practice and outcomesPartner with the Bangalore-based team to embed Kaizen consistently across initiativesSupport the Department Head with delivering broader digital and technology change programmes across GCIB EMEASupport the Department Head and COO for GCIB EMEA with activities related to Project Horizon, ensuring alignment with global digital prioritiesContribute to the development and delivery of GCIB EMEA’s AI strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving team/ user adoptionAttend key technology/transformation working groups and similar fora as requiredWORK EXPERIENCEEssential:Proven experience in transformation within the financial services sector or a similarly complex environmentExperience in embedding efficiency programmes across multiple business linesSKILLS AND EXPERIENCEFunctional / Technical Competencies:EssentialHands-on experience applying Lean / Six Sigma methodologies in complex operating environmentsAbility to communicate effectively to key stakeholders at all levelsBroad knowledge of investment and corporate banking products and services and how they impact or support clients across sectors / regionsEducation / Qualifications:EssentialDegree Level or relevant industry experienceSix Sigma certification (Green Belt or above), or equivalent continuous improvement qualificationPERSONAL REQUIREMENTSExcellent communication skillsResults driven, with a strong sense of accountabilityA proactive, motivated approach.The ability to operate with urgency and prioritise work accordinglyA structured and logical approach to workStrong problem-solving skillsA creative and innovative approach to workExcellent interpersonal skillsThe ability to manage large workloads and tight deadlinesExcellent attention to detail and accuracyA calm approach, with the ability to perform well in a pressurised environmentStrong numerical skillsStrong decision-making skills, the ability to demonstrate sound judgementExcellent Microsoft Office skillsWe are open to considering flexible working requests in line with organisational requirements.MUFG is committed to embracing diversity and building an inclusive culture where all employees are valued, respected and their opinions count.
