Overview
In this role you lead MUFG’s Threat Hunting efforts for EMEA, building and maturing an intelligence-led program to detect cyber threats across diverse environments. You collaborate with global and regional security teams to raise the detection bar and strengthen cyber defence. You will drive detection engineering, analytics and automation to scale across on‑premise and cloud environments. Responsibilities
- Lead threat hunting operations for the EMEA region with an intelligence-led, continuous approach.
- Coordinate with the Global Threat Hunting Centre of Excellence to ensure consistent methodologies and execution across regions.
- Implement detection as code and oversee automated detection engineering pipelines for speed, scale and coverage across on‑premise and cloud environments.
- Work with regional and global leads to mature threat hunting and detection practices, incorporating advanced analytics, AI and ML where appropriate.
- Provide executive-level reporting to EMEA management on programme maturity, outcomes and security posture with clear metrics.
- Develop and maintain global metrics and QA processes to measure effectiveness and maturity of the programme.
- Promote ongoing professional development on attacker techniques and trends within the team.
- Operate effectively as part of a global, time-zone diverse team and align with regulatory environments.
- Collaborate with security operations teams (threat intel, digital forensics, IR, red team) to strengthen end-to-end security operations.
- Provide thought leadership on global initiatives related to threat detection, log collection strategies and monitoring architecture.
Key requirements
- Extensive experience in threat hunting, digital forensics and incident response in a financial or complex global setting with hands-on leadership of teams.
- Experience in a global organization with distributed teams and familiarity with large-scale security monitoring platforms and cloud environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Results-driven with strong accountability
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Deep expertise in threat hunting and detection engineering
- Knowledge of threat hunting frameworks such as PEAK and TAHITI
- Ability to design, implement and mature proactive detection across diverse tech environments
