The Apprenticeship Programme is designed to help those with no experience of working in finance and provide the opportunity to embark on a structured learning journey resulting in a professional qualification. As a part of our two-year Apprenticeship programme you will be studying towards Level 4 Investment Operations Specialist. Business Support is an integral part of the Client Lifecycle Management Team which is situated within the Global Corporate and Investment Banking Division (GCIB) of MUFG Bank. Business Support's role is to provide valuable support, monitoring and reporting as well as acting as an effective 1st line of defense for GCIB, and in particular for Leveraged Finance, Aviation Finance and Commodity & Structured Trade Finance, both from an Origination and Portfolio perspective.

You will be responsible for supporting the Business Support Team by providing proactive, thorough and accurate support by conducting key monitoring and reporting tasks. They will also work closely with the various Origination and Portfolio Teams to provide valuable support to ensure that there are no breaches of credit policy, lapses in credit sanctions or reputational damage as well as assisting them on various internal processes for both new and existing transactions.

Some of these tasks will include:

  • Support the monitoring, updating and reporting of the following tasks:
  • Monitoring of Borrower Ratings
  • New Business Credit Application expiry dates
  • Covenant set up and ongoing monitoring
  • Monitoring of Conditions and Instructions set by Credit Teams
  • Waiver and consent request monitoring

Perform accurate and timely administrative, reporting and due date control tasks in relation to the above in an efficient and responsive manner in order to manage operational risks and ensure internal and external deadlines are adhered to. Review documentation and extract covenants to be monitored for newly signed transactions and amendments. As well as monitoring the receipt of covenants and reporting any breaches/outstanding covenants.

Input on to GCARS (Credit System) accurately, according to the specifics of the deals and in accordance with bank credit policy for Credit Applications and Borrower ratings for new and existing transactions. Check the necessity for Funds Liquidity Application is evaluated and, when required, that submission is within the timeframe stipulated by the approving division. Assist deal team members with completion of Fee Notifications and Fee Accruals ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines, as stipulated by the relevant SOX controls.

Build relationships throughout MUFG to establish a peer network. Seek opportunities to increase efficiency, accuracy and collaborative working. Develop good understanding of all core systems and procedures within GCIB. Undertake any ad-hoc exercises/reporting as assigned.
