Overview MUFG is seeking a Credit Risk Manager to join the EMEA Financial Institutions Credit Risk Management team in London.

The role supports sustainable growth and professional development within a global financial group, with opportunities to work across London, Tokyo, and the wider EMEA region on high-impact credit risk management initiatives.

What you'll do Assess fund financing transactions and oversee the ongoing management of complex portfolios.

Collaborate with colleagues across multiple departments locally and internationally to ensure thorough evaluation and management of credit risk.

Engage directly with clients during due diligence, contribute to new product development by shaping risk frameworks, and present key transactions to senior management.

Clarify risk appetites for stakeholders and negotiate terms within legal documentation.

Assess and recommend appropriate ratings and credit limits for fund financing transactions by evaluating transaction structures and collateral packages.

Engage in active dialogue with trading, sales, and relationship manager counterparts to ensure risk appetite is understood by all 1Lo D stakeholders.

Oversee the annual review process for existing credit limits and counterparties within your area of responsibility, ensuring policy compliance.

Maintain oversight of the EMEA portfolio across MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities, ensuring accurate monitoring and reporting of exposures.

Organise comprehensive credit due diligence meetings with clients to gather critical information for informed decision-making.

Support new product adoption by defining risk acceptance criteria, developing rating models, and establishing effective credit risk measurements.

Collaborate with Global Corporate comfortable presenting analyses to senior leaders and incorporating feedback.

Commitment to continuous learning and skill development through formal training or knowledge sharing.

Experience in credit risk management within financial services, specifically fund financing products (e. g., subscription finance) and FX hedging solutions.

Understanding of common LP types (insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, Fund of Funds) with additional exposure considered beneficial.

Ability to analyse financial sponsor investment strategies (buy-out funds, private credit vehicles, infrastructure funds, or similar asset classes).

Solid working knowledge of subscription line legal documentation and broader fund financing solutions (e. g., NAV financing, Private Equity Portfolio Financing).

Familiarity with regulatory frameworks impacting credit risk management in banking; awareness of evolving industry standards is advantageous.

Bachelors degree or equivalent; Masters or relevant accreditation highly regarded.

Excellent communication skills to convey complex credit arguments clearly in writing and verbally.

Structured, collaborative problem-solving approach and calm performance under pressure.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office for analysis and reporting.
