MUFG seeks an experienced HR Business Partner to drive people strategy across MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc. The VP will partner with senior stakeholders, deliver HR solutions, drive strategic initiatives, and ensure regulatory compliance in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business areas to align HR practices with strategic initiatives, attend planning meetings and provide comprehensive advice.
- Design and lead strategic projects that drive business results in line with the Medium‑Term Business Plan, ensuring HR services are proactive, commercial and responsive.
- Diagnose business issues and goals effectively, aligning them with the People Strategy to nurture a high‑performance culture.
- Develop strong relationships with Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and HR peers regionally and globally, acting as subject matter expert for allocated CoE partnerships.
- Collaborate with managers to develop, implement, and manage career development plans.
- Support line management in forecasting and planning talent requirements in accordance with evolving business strategies.
- Oversee the Compensation Review process, working with Reward, Regulation & Benefits teams to ensure fairness and market competitiveness.
- Address complex queries related to compensation surveys, expatriation issues, flexible benefits, tax matters and other associated topics.
- Ensure performance management policies are implemented consistently and lead or contribute to departmental or cross‑business projects.
- Manage Employee Relations cases including investigations, grievances, disciplinary processes, appeals and dispute resolution in accordance with legal requirements and company policy.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience as an HR Business Partner within financial services, partnering directly with front‑office functions.
- Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Exceptional communication skills, able to build trust‑based relationships at all levels.
- Results‑oriented approach with strong accountability.
- Proactive mindset with ability to prioritize work under tight deadlines.
- Sound judgement for structured problem‑solving in ambiguous situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills facilitating collaboration across diverse teams.
- Strong numerical acumen for accurate analysis during compensation reviews or data‑driven projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Calmness under pressure during high workload or complex employee relations cases.
