We are a global financial group focused on delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across multiple sectors. The role is based in the Financial Advisory team within ESFO, covering energy and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support advisory mandates: negotiate mandate letters, develop information memoranda, conduct financial structuring and analysis, negotiate with funders, manage due diligence, develop key documentation, and oversee the funding process through to financial close.
  • Manage and develop relationships with key clients, lawyers, procuring authorities, banks, and other financial institutions, as well as internal stakeholders such as coverage teams, SFCO, and MUS.
  • Assist in devising, refining, and implementing the financial advisory strategy; collaborate with MUFG teams to enhance client services and the overall MUFG offering.
  • Provide ratings advisory support.
  • Play an active role in business development: identify advisory opportunities, prepare and present proposals, perform client marketing, and participate in assessment and authorisation activities (including BCRA, Business Screening, and KYC).
  • Propose tailored solutions in coordination with other MUFG specialists, ensuring market-leading structuring, execution, and appropriate solutions; coordinate with international structured finance teams and prepare internal committee presentations.
  • Facilitate marketing and origination of transactions through the MUS product suite; attend meetings, share data, and provide insights, while recognising that final decisions and commitments rest with a MUS employee.

Experience

  • Prior experience in structured finance advisory or product roles.
  • Experience within a project finance bank, boutique, or DCM team.
  • Experience in structured finance, with exposure to M&A and rating work beneficial.
  • Pan‑EMEA experience of different financing documentation beneficial.

Skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of structured finance and financing documentation (e.g., CTAs).
  • Leadership on all aspects of advisory mandates with senior support on complex elements.
  • Knowledge of credit, risk management, market, and legal aspects of structured finance.
  • Experience with multiple product types: bank, public, and private DCM.
  • Project finance modelling skills and ability to interrogate financial models.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound IT and quantitative/numerical abilities.

Education / Qualifications

  • Degree level and/or relevant industry expertise.

Language Skills

  • Foreign language skills (German, French, Spanish) beneficial but not essential.
