The Associate Client Servicing role is based in London within the Transaction Banking division, acting as the first point of contact for clients across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the principal point of contact for all routine client banking enquiries and matters.
  • Diligently log, monitor, and manage all incoming communications through to resolution while maintaining precise records and reporting key performance metrics.
  • Assist clients with daily transactions by investigating and resolving queries or concerns promptly, with empathy and professionalism.
  • Respond efficiently to internal requests from front office coverage teams and branches across EMEA, facilitating seamless inter‑departmental communication.
  • Engage proactively with corporate client groups in an account‑management capacity to nurture transactional relationships and provide considered recommendations for cross‑sell or revenue‑generating opportunities.
  • Oversee all aspects of client user administration, including the issuance and completion of documentation for various maintenance requests.
  • Collaborate closely with Relationship Managers, Sales teams, Operations staff and other stakeholders to ensure prompt case resolution while identifying areas for service enhancement or client education.
  • Identify potential risks or emerging issues at an early stage by escalating concerns appropriately to ensure swift resolution for clients who may be at risk.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects or initiatives aimed at refining the client experience or improving team service levels as required by evolving business needs.
  • Adhere rigorously to internal policies regarding escalation procedures, compliance obligations, process controls, product guidelines and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in a comparable client servicing or operations role within the banking sector or broader financial services industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of transaction banking products, including cash management, liquidity management and online banking channels; familiarity with host‑to‑host SWIFT connectivity is highly regarded.
  • Proven expertise in payment processing (UK Domestic: BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payments; Cross‑Border: SEPA, Target 2, SWIFT) and technical proficiency using online banking platforms.
  • Prior experience operating on a client servicing desk or managing complex client enquiries within financial services.
  • Japanese language skills (verbal and written) are advantageous but not obligatory; multilingual abilities are welcomed.
  • Strong analytical acumen and effective questioning techniques for thorough problem analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that promote collaboration across teams and build trust‑based relationships with clients at all organisational levels.
  • Computer literacy and readiness to learn new software applications relevant to client service.
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy even under tight deadlines.
  • Minimum qualifications: A‑levels (ONC/OND) or equivalent work experience; degree‑level education or equivalent practical experience preferred.
